Wye Valley ales and Gwatkins farmhouse cider are served through the original ‘hole in the wall’ bar to a room furnished with scrubbed top tables and lined with old settles.

This is the room where Beattie Lewis, whose family had owned the pub for 125 years, was still serving cider from a jug and making jam sandwiches for hungry walkers right up until the end of the 1990’s. When Beatttie retired and sold up, the new owners fortunately recognised the unique character of the bar and did not make any alterations.
